Anti-snap locks for all types of uPVC and composite doors
Anti-snap locks
Anti-snap locks are the industry’s response to the increased number of break-ins through uPVC and composite doors. Thieves are able to gain entry quickly and quietly using tools available to the general public, and they’re causing distress to families and businesses across the country.
Every break-in starts with the burglar deciding which building they’re going to attack, so this is the best time for you to influence them to not try to break into your home or business. If you’ve fitted locks with a British Standard or Sold Secure logo, then this could be a visual deterrent, although if they still make an attempt to gain entry, it will quickly become apparent if you have anti-snap locks fitted!
Different lock manufacturers have approached the problem of snapping locks in different ways. Some locks are reinforced to make it more difficult to snap them at all, whilst others have a sacrificial cut designed to block access to the inside workings after the snapping takes place.
At Pick Me Locksmith Ltd, we only fit locks that are suitable for the door they are required to lock.

British Standard
The British Standards Institute (BSI) tests anti-snap locks using Technical Specification (TS) 007, and they’ve graded cylinders and handles using a 3-star grading system. Products that have passed the TS007 test will display a BSI Kite mark with either 1, 2 or 3 stars depending on the grade awarded, with 3 stars being the highest. TS007 was initially developed by the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF) and the Glass and Glazing Federation, supported by the BSI and Sold Secure.
The standard is designed as a security solution that enables the consumer to achieve 3-star protection by either upgrading to a 3-star cylinder or a combination of 1-star cylinder and a 2-star handle. The majority of our customers opt for the 3-star cylinder, as it’s more cost-effective when the existing handles are still serviceable.
Which is the best anti-snap lock?
We at Pick Me Locksmith always recommend using the best grade anti-snap lock you can afford, and ultimately, we’d choose a TS007 3-star cylinder with Sold Secure diamond standard.

Sold Secure
CLS standards
Sold Secure tests security products in order to reduce the risk of crime, and it’s backed and supported by the Home Office.
Products are graded as bronze, silver or gold, with the addition of diamond standard for euro cylinders under the SS312 standard.
Sold Secure continuously reviews techniques used by burglars and then evolves its testing to ensure products are tested against realistic and current threats.
A lock that’s accredited by Sold Secure has, in our opinion, achieved the final and highest approval for a security product.
